Ok, for Alain, 'Turkey day" was a lot of fun. Remember, I had ordered my Thanksgiving dinner from "Whole Foods" - all ready prepared. The little guy didn't really like that, though, and I ordered my turkey unbaked and I made my 'famous' cranberry relish.
.My sister visited from Toronto (it's nice to be closer). We went to New York City for the week end. We saw Carrie Fisher's "Wishful Drinking" play. It was hilarious!!
!http://www.roundabouttheatre.org/54/ I hate it when they don't have an available address!! They miss a lot of publicity like that!
We had lunch at:
We had a little champagne and 'BLT' and fries (ok, we're in the US!!).
We then had dinner at:
Lobster salad (good)
Foie gras ganache (nearly made us cry, it was sooooo good!)Cured rib-eye (very good)
Hot-smoked arctic char (had to eat my sister's - she doesn't do raw fish)
Venison loin (oh my God, delicious)
Tete de moines (cheese plate)
Frozen mango yogurt (quite refreshing)
Arctic circle (couldn't do that one - too much food!)
They served 2 nice white wines - one from Alsace and the other from Australia (the first a pinot blanc and the other a chardonnay - I know I didn't spell that correctly).
All in all we had a great time! The next day the husband and the kids joined us in NYC (we live 20 minutes out of this great city). The teen bought clothes for the holidays and the honey tried to find a coat - but, to no avail!
That's life. My honey is going to Europe this week. He'll be back on Friday - I'm 'on' with the kids for the week... On Wednesday, I'm going to see Martha Stewart live - ok, I like to cook!!!
